Off-Ice Training

Physical preparation is the set of essential motor skills that forms the foundation of a player's mastery.

Gym work to improve the player’s physical condition:
– general physical preparation (strength, speed, endurance, flexibility, agility)
– sport-specific preparation (stickhandling, shooting, passing, sports games)

Because the player stays in a static position off the ice, this makes it possible to focus attention on the details of correct execution. We teach and refine:
– puck control technique
– passing
– sweep and wrist shots
– the “backhand flip” shot
– the slap shot
– backhand shots
– one-timers.

Each group works with one or two coaches. Players are divided according to their level of stick skills. Groups of up to 8 players allow for more repetitions as well as better quality of execution (an individual approach to every player).
